Parcheesi

Cat, Bunny, Duck and Badger are four friends who live in a beautiful valley. Through a repetitive, cumulative, and circular narrative structure, the story follows these humanized animals on a journey from the river house, to the tree house, the lake house, and the hill house. It all takes place during a peaceful winter day, from morning until night.
Driven by the desire to share a sip of milk, a bite of cake, the melody of a ukulele, and a game of Parcheesi, the visits follow one after another in search of more neighbors, who each time put on their coat, scarf, and hat before heading out. Following the footprints that Cat, Bunny, and Duck have left in the snow, Badger makes his way with growing curiosity and intrigue, until he reaches the final surprise.
The illustrations combine wide, luminous scenes with delicate details of the characters, who wear very colorful clothing that dialogues with the yellow, green, red, and blue of the Parcheesi pieces. The images stand out for their expressiveness and dynamism, as seen in the fun snowball fight scene, full of kinetic lines and joyful gestures.
