An album that harks back to Benito Pérez Galdós’s work ¿Dónde está mi cabeza? (Where is My Head?) and tells the story of Mr. F, a man who wakes up one morning and discovers, horrified, that his head has disappeared, leaving only a void. Despite his bewilderment, he tries to disguise his condition and carry on with his daily routine, but he ends up taking a different path than usual.
Overcome by fear and shock, he embarks on a dreamlike journey where chaos becomes the only sensible response. The ending, however, holds an unexpected twist that brings us back to reality.
Building on this premise, Fanuel Hanán Díaz masterfully deploys humor and irony in a work that portrays the contradictions and difficulties of being different and going against the grain in a society unaccustomed to change.
With clear nods to Dalí and Magritte, Landonio constructs absurd, surrealist-inspired scenarios where illustration takes on an essential role: intense colors, unexpected animals, and spatial compositions that challenge the reader’s gaze.
