From the cold of Malmö and the warmth of Madrid, Gato Sueco was born in April 2015 as an independent publishing house.
They believe in a curious, intelligent, and free childhood, and in books as its wonderful companions. They want books to serve as both mirrors and windows for children—mirrors that allow them to identify with the characters in their stories, and windows that let them glimpse the lives of others, just as good literature does for adults. They create books full of things to discover, so they can grow alongside children.
Gato Sueco believes in children’s literature that speaks about everything: emotions, body or social difficults and that it trusts in the fresh intelligence and curiosity of childhood. But above all, they want children to enjoy books!
