An editorial project born in the Canary Islands, Diego Pun sees the book as an object of reverence—a commitment to society and to literature itself. Its texts delve into the essence of the human being and the world we inhabit, grounded in the firm belief that other people’s stories shine a light on our own.
Diego Pun was a minstrel who lived among the trees. On warm mornings in Isla Baja, he would climb to the treetops in search of the words carried by the trade winds. Like a mad alchemist, he mixed them with sap and leaves, transforming them into ballads he would later tell to children.
In its editorial vision, oral storytelling, artistic creativity, and the nurturing of new readers come together. Each title is treated like a one-of-a-kind gem, and indeed, each book holds a singular treasure. Their mission is to carry the written word to the most remote corners, just as Diego Pun would descend from his treetop to share stories with passersby.
Reading is impossible without genuine desire; that’s why the pleasure of the book is one of their core principles. Diego Pun invites us to read, revealing the act of reading as a gathering place for diverse aesthetic experiences—both literary and visual.
